Rising Living Costs Fuel Voter Frustration as US Midterm Elections Approach
In a new AP-NORC poll conducted prior to the November 3 midterms, a general voter dissatisfaction towards President Donald Trump's domestic and international policies prevails, with 80% of Americans demanding significant changes or complete overhaul of the way in which the country is governed. Motivated by expensive living, 85% of those surveyed point to the economy as the number one issue, while eight in ten Americans disapprove of Trump's performance in addressing the issue of expensive living, and only a third approve of him. Despite healthcare (69%), Iran War (64%), immigration and crime (both 45%) also being important issues for voters, most Americans belonging to different political parties continue to express their desire to take part in the elections, with two-thirds of Americans saying that voting in the midterms is of extreme importance.
